This quote is so apt isn’t it? Switzerland has everything and that’s why this is your chosen location for a dream destination wedding. And it’s one of the reasons why, when my family and I took a six month working sabbatical here seven years ago, we ended up living here permanently.
We are #swissfamilywilson and we live high up in the mountains in a car-free ski resort called Wengen, which is in the Jungfrau Region of the Bernese Oberland.
So what does this mean for you? Well, apart from the obvious, that I am an acclaimed Swiss wedding videographer and that I love filming wedding stories in Switzerland. I am centrally situated in Switzerland and perfectly located for weddings, elopements and proposals. But I am also ‘a local’ and familiar with its beautiful mountains, lakes and cities, villages and communities. So together, we can take advantage of all of Switzerland’s hidden ‘secrets’ that I have been exploring since relocating here. I also know when to connect with other fantastic wedding suppliers and venues here and when we should ‘go it alone’ and create the most amazing unique wedding stories, in awesome spots where the tourists won’t find us!

Working as a journalist and filmmaker at the BBC for over twenty years has taught me a really powerful lesson – no two stories are the same. I draw on that knowledge and experience to ensure that each and every one of my clients has a wedding film unlike any other.

You might be considering an elopement or intimate destination wedding here… I don’t blame you. It’s as though Switzerland was made for these types of wedding stories!
Eloping in Switzerland can be an opportunity for adventure with just the two of you or with your best friends or closest family members as witnesses and guests.
In the past few years I’ve become the go-to Swiss wedding filmmaker for elopement weddings, pre-wedding shoots and surprise proposals.

There’s one thing you can count on in Switzerland … As a country for a destination wedding or elopement story, you’re spoilt for choice, so let me share some of my favourite places for a wedding film location.
For luxury and the sublime then Suvretta House in St Moritz is high up in the Alps, Fairmont Le Montreux Palace sits on the shores of Lake Geneva and the Schweizerhof Hotel & Spa is located in the centre of my favourite city, Bern.
The Grandhotel Geissbach is reached by boat on Lake Brienz with the most spectacular waterfall, for a castle venue then there’s amazing views across neighbouring Lake Thun from Schlöss Oberhofen and Schlöss Schadau.
If you’re looking for glamour and a venue that exudes exclusivity then look no further than the Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina or the Bürgenstock Resort & Spa with stunning views over Lake Lucerne.
The Bernese Oberland offers one of the most perfect settings for an elopement or intimate wedding, which is Lake Blausee and Lake Oeschinensee in the Kander Valley. For those seeking an adventure wedding then how about where I live, in the Jungfrau Region where the north face of the Eiger, the Mönch and Jungfrau mountains are perfect backdrops for your wedding ceremony, elopement, proposal or engagement shoot.
